C-Paste Ltd is a unique ingredients company that uses world leading production to manufacture healthy patent protected ingredients for the food industry.

Who are some of your key clients/customers?

We have been working with local authority school meal departments & white label manufacturers for supermarkets . Also doing NPD work with multiple food manufacturers & Universities.

SweetAble™: A Breakthrough Ingredient

SweetAble™ is a naturally derived food ingredient made primarily from vegetables, with added polyols, water, pectin, and citric acid. It is minimally processed using proprietary technology protected by two UK patents (GB2599284 ). SweetAble™ can replace sugar, fat, and egg in recipes, simplifying the production process and eliminating the need for complex reformulations or additional bulking agents.

Functionality and Organoleptic Characteristics

Sugar provides sweetness and acts as a preservative, stabilizer, thickener, and fermentation substrate. It also adds flavour and colour through caramelization. SweetAble™ closely replicates these functionalities, offering similar sweetness, preservation, stabilization, thickening, and fermentation properties.

Through continual trials, SweetAble™ has consistently matched the organoleptic characteristics of sugar-based products, with taste tests by food retailers, manufacturers, scientists, and consumers showing no noticeable differences in texture or flavor.

What prompted you to enter the awards?

We were pointed in the direction of your award by Mission Ventures who are running the Good Food Programme. C-Paste Ltd, with its ingredient SweetAble, is one of the current cohort.

How did it feel to win in this category?

To be honest I was astonished as we were up against some really tough competition. Now I have come to terms with the honour, it gives me a great sense of validation & the drive to push on to better things.

Do you have anything new that you’d like to promote to our audience?

We have been working very hard behind the scenes for the last year and in 2025 will be pushing on with a new website, some fantastic partners and trying to be a part of the health & side stream solution, in a very complex food landscape.
